First blog post!

Hey! My name is Charlotte and I have decided to make this blog because at the moment the only 'blog' i have is one on tumblr, where all I do is reblog other peoples pictures and upload photos from instagram.... So I thought with this blog i could post my own original photos, projects etc. and follow other blogs that I am truly interested in following and looking at/reading. I have a few favourite fashion bloggers and they have really inspired me to start properly blogging myself. It's been something I've wanted to do for a while but have never got round to... so fingers crossed this goes okay....

And this is the end of my first blog post. Wow.

  1. Hi Charlibelle,

First, welcome to the lovely world of blogging!

I never seem to comment on anyone's blogs these days - including actual, real life friends - but I saw your comment on my blog - thank you - and replied on the post, but realised, people never look at the comments again, so just in case you don't, here's my reply:

Charliebelle, dark purple velvet sounds MAGIC! That would definitely go with everything. Including and especially red, nudes, tans, browns.. and the whole forest green/blues range would looks gorgeous ending up with dark purple velvet! You've got me in the mood to dress that way today actually, so thanks for stopping by.

Commenting on people's posts (of blogs that you genuinely like, as you've said) in a way that shows you've taken the time read the post (and are respecting the time of someone to make the post) is a great way to get launched, and grow. In fact I'm putting your blog on my blog roll: my little good deed for the day, out of the way before 8:30 a.m. ; )

Another tip: I've just discovered a NEW, London based platform - a Pinterest, focused on fashion - called LookBible:
    http://lookbible.com

It's just launched, and they approached me to join, and I was so impressed I want to help them make it great. If you go to the site and request an invite, please also let me know privately (jill@haybooks.com) and I'll make sure the guys who started it know to fast track you.

Okay that's it for the good deeds: now I can go thru the rest of the day, knowing I'm covered. My background is art, media and design, too, btw, and I love my cat too and life is STILL pretty good... all these years later. Best of luck to you.

    jill x
